About Me

Hello,

My name is Natalie Jiménez. I graduated from California State University, Northridge with a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in Spanish-Journalism.

During my college years, I reported on immigrant and minority communities as a way to learn about my communities and to add reinforcement to their daily struggles and accomplishments. These reports were done through text, photographs, and an audio podcast.

After college, I worked as an English and Spanish translator at the newspaper chain Eastern Group Publications to further help these communities get the information they needed. At the same time, I began my educating career with Journalistic Learning Initiative in the city of Lennox. Through this program, I have been allowed to provide youth with resources that allow them to think outside of the classroom and speak out about social justice issues.

As a way to give back to my communities and learn more about them, I strive to continue educating youth and continue reporting about important matters within the immigrant and minority communities.
